
Day 0 – Friday, October 3
Depart from USA to Jordan
Note: Some clients may arrive at conclusion of a prior Egyptian itinerary. Clients arriving as part of Egypt extension fly on Oct.4 Cairo to Amman.
Day 1 – Saturday, October 4
Arrival in Jordan, (please arrive by mid day) group meet and assist at Amman Airport by our representative, group transfer to hotel in Amman. Visas are purchased at the Amman, Jordan airport. D Amman
Day 2 - Sunday, October 5
Breakfast at hotel. Walking tour of Amman (Old Town) including the Amphitheater & the Citadel. (The modern city of Jordan, known in history as Rabbath - Ammon, the walled citadel & capital of the biblical kingdom of the Ammonites and in Graeco - Roman times as Philadelphia). Following lunch (on own with suggestions) - - proceed to Qasr Al Abed ( Iraq Al-Amir) , it is a Hellenistic site 100% situated West of Amman about 50 minutes drive - dinner at a Jordanian Family house serving Typical Arabic food - back to hotel for overnight. Day 3 – Monday, October 6
Following breakfast, drive up to the North visiting Jerash ( The Graeco-Roman city of Jerash nestles in a wall-watered site in the biblical land of Gilead. It is one of the best preserved provincial Roman cities in the world with fortification walls, temples, baths, colonnaded streets, theaters, shops and oval plaza). Following lunch (on own with suggestions) visit Lady of Mountain Church in Anjara city near Ajloun Castle. - Anjara is a biblical city and features on most biblical tours of Jordan. Visitors head for the shrine of the Lady of the Mountain at the Roman Catholic Church. The church consists of a large hall to receive pilgrims who come to honor the list size wooden statue of Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus placed within a newly built grotto. It is believed that Jesus Christ and his disciples including Virgin Mary passed through Anjara once and rested in a cave there during a journey between Jerusalem and Galilee. - Continue to Ajloun (west from Jerash lies Qala'at Al-Rabad, the castle of Ajoun. It was built in 1184 by Usama Ibn Munqich who was one of the generals of the Arab leader Saladin). Return of Amman for evening. B, D Amman
Day 4 – Tuesday, October 7
Depart following breakfast for the Dead Sea (400 meters below sea level, the lowest spot on earth, swim on top of the warm, soothing water, four times as salty as sea water and so thick that it is impossible to sink ). Additionally we visit Bethany (Bethany was announced one of the most archaeological religious discoveries of the past century. The archaeological park includes the area where Jesus Christ was baptized, where John the Baptist lived and preached in Bethany). Following lunch at Dead Sea spa location, relax, swim or photograph as you wish. Late afternoon return to hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight B, L, D AMMAN
Day 5 – Wednesday, October 8
After breakfast drive through the Kings Way Road way road stopping in by Madaba (the city of Mosaics & the biblical city of Madeba, which continued inhabited in the Nabatean & Roman periods and was home of the regional school of masochists in the Byzantine period. Madaba's chief attraction is the six century Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Greek Orthodox Church).
- Visit Nebo, (MT. NEBO, the memorial of Moses, the presumed site of the Prophet's death and burial place. According to the biblical account in Genesis Moses died and was buried at Mount Nebo after seeing the Holy Land).
- Continue to Shobak, an impressive castle of former Crusader times. While today it’s called Shobak, it was Crak de Montréal/Mons Regalis to Crusaders in the 1100s. Built by King Baldwin I in 1115, it strategically guarded the road from Damascus to Egypt
Day 6 – Thursday, October 9
Breakfast, then depart to Wadi Rum for a Jeep tour. Wadi Rum is one of the world’s outstanding desert landscapes; a protected area covering 720 square kilometers of dramatic desert wilderness in the south of Jordan. Huge mountains of sandstone and granite emerge, sheer-sided, from wide sandy valleys to reach heights of 1700 meters and more. Narrow canyons and fissures cut deep into the mountains and many conceal ancient rock drawings etched by the peoples of the desert over millennia. Bedouin tribes still live among the mountains of Rum and their large goat-hair tents are a special feature of the landscape. Lunch is at a family’s Bedouin tent. Evening drive to Petra for dinner and overnight. B, L, D Amman
Day 7 – Friday, October 10
1st Visit to Petra Very early rise and breakfast completed by 6 am. Pack some extra snacks; we have a full day inside Petra. We depart very early as we want to be among the first to enter Petra at 6:30am, to capture first light at Petra, when the sun light shines over the treasury, plenty of things to take photos of: people and faces - Full day sightseeing Petra (One of the Seven Wonders of the World - The capital city of the Nabatean Arabs who settled in south Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. They created in their lovely sandstone valleys a city unique in the ancient world. Its extraordinary colored rocks and carved facades has caught the imagination of travelers since it was rediscovered in 1812, and despite of thousands of visitors it still retains its charm & mystery) lunch (own own) inside Petra. Dinner at hotel and overnight (optional walks inside Petra (High Place & Monastery) plus evening Candlelight walk ($20pp/on own) into Petra, B, D PETRA
Day 8 – Saturday, October 11
2nd visit to Petra, explore as you wish at own rate and according to own interest in photography.Lunch on own. Mid-afternoon transfer back to Amman for dinner and overnight. B, D Amman
Day 9 – Saturday, October 12
Early Breakfast – Group transfer from hotel to airport for departure, onward journeys or return to USA. B

Single supplement is an additional $395.00pp apprx. Should group size drop below 8 passengers, double occupancy, there will be an additional “small group” fee, apprx. $700p.p.

International airfares and airfare to/from Cairo, Egypt, if you are continuing on after or before Jordan. Any meals not mentioned on the itinerary, (i.e. lunches) Optional tours, : fees to bring photographic equipment into sites, museums or locations, laundry, hotel incidentals such as movies, room service, all beverages including alcoholic beverages or Mini-bar, phone, fax, internet fees and excess baggage charges. Also not included: travel insurance (It is highly recommend that you purchase travel/tour cancellation insurance!) extra costs due to unanticipated changes in your itinerary for reasons beyond our control.

Deposit & Final payments due: A$550 per person, non refundable deposit is required ASAP to hold your reservation on this tour. All payments must be made by cashier’s check, personal check, or credit card through the Art Wolfe website. Final payment: June 15, 2010.
Cancellation Policy: In case of cancellation, the following penalties apply: (a) from 90 to 76 days prior to departure –30% of tour price (b) from 75 to 65 days prior — 75% (c) from 64days onward — no refund. All cancellations have to be in writing and valid as of the day of receipt in our office.
PLEASE advise any dietary restrictions, including diabetic or vegan. Remember, Jordanians often eat their lunch at 3-4 pm and dinner after 8 pm. Always suggested that you take extra breakfast or snacks with you for later munching.
