Day 1 – Friday, March 25—Shanghai
We recommend that you consider flying into Shanghai the day before to allow time to adjust and rest before starting the trip. Please feel free to contact us directly if you’d like assistance in arranging an extra night at the same hotel.

One (1) night, downtown Shanghai hotel, standard room.Day 2 – Saturday, March 26—Shanghai / Mt. Huangshan
Following an early breakfast, the group will embark on a city tour to photograph modern Shanghai including their new markets, business streets, state-of-the-art architecture and cityscapes from the Huangpujiang River.
Late afternoon transfer to train station from hotel to catch the train to Tunxi, Huangshan.
One (1) night on train sleeper car (soft berth).

Day 3 – Sunday, March 27—Mt. Huangshan
The train arrives into Tunxi in the early morning. Following breakfast in town, the group will be transferred via charter bus (1.5 hour drive) to the base of Mt. Huangshan for a tram ride up to mid-mountain level for a photography session on the mountain for the day.
**Depending on weather conditions Art Wolfe may opt to go higher or lower on the mountain. The schedule on the mountain will remain flexible to allow for conditions and Art will work to ensure the group takes advantage of the best opportunities.
Two (2) nights, Mt. Huangshan hotel, standard room.

Day 4 – Monday, March 28—Mt. Huangshan
Full day of photographing the dramatic landscapes of Mt. Huangshan which may include early morning sunrise and sunset photo sessions.
B, L, and D included.Day 5 – Tuesday, March 29—Mt. Huangshan / Kunming
Early morning sunrise photo session before departing to the mountain base. The group will then be transferred via chartered bus to Hangzhou Airport (4 hour drive).
Afternoon flight to Kunming and chartered bus transfer to Kunming hotel. Kunming is the capital of the Yunnan Province and the gateway city from China to Southeast Asia.
One (1) night at Kunming Hotel, standard room.

Day 6 – Wednesday, March 30—Kunming / Yuanyang
Following breakfast, the group will transfer via chartered bus to Yuanyang (6 hour drive) stopping along the way to photograph sights.
Yuanyang is located southeast of the Yunnan province in the mountainous region which has an average altitude of approximately 5,000ft. The main residents here are the Hani, Yi, and Miao Chinese. Their rice terraces are renowned for their beauty.
Three (3) nights, Yuanyang hotel, standard room.

Day 7 – Thursday, March 31—Yuanyang
Morning visit to a local market in Pengzhihua Village (1 hour drive) followed by a full day of photo sessions of the rice terraces from different view points in the province.
B, L, and D included.Day 8 – Friday, April 1—Yuanyang
Early morning transfer by chartered bus to the Duoyishu Village (.5 hour drive) for sunrise. A boxed breakfast has been arranged. The group will go on to visit the Hani Chinese of Shengcun Village (15 minute drive) and to photograph and enjoy their architecture and customs.
B, L, and D included.Day 9 – Saturday, April 2—Yuanyang / Kunming / Guilin
Morning transfer via charter bus to Kunming Airport via Geiju and Mile with stops along the way.
Mid-day flight to Guilin, one of the most popular locations in China and known for the poetry and art inspired since ancient times by the surrounding picturesque landscape.
One (1) night in downtown Guilin hotel, standard room.

Day 10 – Sunday, April 3—Guilin / Yangshao
Morning transfer by chartered bus to Fuli, an ancient town near Yangshao. The town goes back over 1000 years in history and is surrounded on one side by the Li River and three-sides by mountains. Because of its long history there are many artists and customs here.
Three (3) nights, Yangshao hotel, standard room.
B, L, and D included.Day 11 – Monday, April 4—Yangshao
Morning transfer by chartered bus to Xingping Village and, if time allows, on to Yucun by bamboo raft, an old fishing village.
Late afternoon/early evening photo session of the cormorant fisherman.

Day 12 – Tuesday, April 5—Yangshao
Full day trek along the banks of the Meeting Dragon River, also called Yulong River, which is a picturesque tributary of the Li River. The river flows through some of the most beautiful Karst scenery, peaceful villages, and the 600 year-old Yulong stone bridge. Along the way, there are other small villages and smaller rice paddies to photograph.

Day 13 –Wednesday, April 6—Yangshao / Shanghai
The group will depart for the Guilin Airport for a return to Shanghai.
One (1) night, downtown Shanghai hotel, standard room.
Afternoon photo session in Shanghai’s Old Town.

Day 14 –Thursday, April 7—Shanghai / Home
*Most flights for the US depart in the afternoon. Please contact our office if you are intending to extend your travel plans.
Following breakfast, the group will photograph and walk around the ZhuJiaJiao Watertown.
