Art Wolfe's Creative Sessions
For those who associate Art Wolfe solely with nature photography,
be prepared for a startling revelation.
Drawing from 36 years of international travel, Art will delve into a vast range of subjects: from technology and industry to urban cultures and the human condition. Imagery of nature, wildlife, and the world’s varied landscapes will round out the curriculum to provide the most comprehensive and imaginative class available.
Utilizing his formal training as a teacher, Art dissects visual images, exploring what makes a compelling and emotionally engaging photograph. Attendees will come away with inspiration and tangible ideas for moving their photography forward.
We will start off with a welcome reception at the Art Wolfe Gallery- Thursday, March 4th from 6pm to 8pm. Wine and light appetizers
will be provided.
Creative Sessions will take place at the Silver Cloud Stadium Hotel located in the SODO district of Seattle and three blocks from the Art Wolfe Gallery. We recommend using them if you are looking for Hotel accommodations. Most people who attend Creative Sessions do not rent a car as the event is held in the Silver Cloud Hotel with lunch provided each day. Cabs are readily available if you wish to explore the Seattle area. The Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square are only minutes away.
The session will include John Greengo of the "Travels to the Edge" crew talking about equipment review and The Traveling Photographer. Jay Goodrich, will be discussing HDR (High dynamic range) as well as Q&A with Art and his crew.
Each participant will have an opportunity for a critique by Art of several images. We ask that you bring 8 images on a jump drive or CD/DVD and Art will review up to 4 images during the Creative Sessions.
This intensive session will run from March 5 through March 7, 9am to 5pm.
This program fills fast, so don’t delay!
We look forward to seeing you there.
